2013 Opel Cascada Convertibles Review

by Jess Oliphant

Opel Cascada is the new convertible car from Opel. This is the first time since 1930, that the company has launched a convertible car and this is said to be an attempt at raising the bar. While other players in the market have already established a brand value when it comes to convertibles, Opel is trying to gather some attention in this space.

Opel Cascada Exterior : Opel has come up with a nice and elegant design and it will appear classy with the premium quality materials used on the body. The stylish bumper make the headlights look sharp. It comes with the beautiful LED daytime running light. You can also find the trademark Opel signature grille in the front which adds to its classy appearance. But the rear bumper seems disappointing with nothing special about it. The LED taillights are good and connected by the chrome strip, but the overall appearance at the rear will not leave you satisfied. The space is huge and can accommodate even the tallest people with ease.

Opel Cascada Interior : The interiors are stylish with the soft touch materials made of high quality and the leather fabrics adding to the luxury. There is also an option of the Nappa leather which comes with heating and ventilation option. It has ample storage space with as many as seven storage units in the cabin and the cargo is also spacious making it the ideal car for a long drive.

Opel Cascada Performance : The 2013 Opel Cascada Convertible comes in three engine options of 1.4 Turbocharged 4V with 162lb-ft of torque and 138 hp, 1.6 liter Turbocharged 4V with 206lb-ft of torque and 167 hp and last the 2.0 liter diesel 4V with 280lb-ft of torque and 162 hp. As per sources, more engines are likely to be added to the lineup before the end of the year.

Overall, the performance of the convertible is good enough for any user. The interiors are stylish even though most of them are taken from the compact Astra. But the quality and built is better than the earlier models of Opel and is of higher standards. The standard feature includes the electric parking brake and the electric power steering. The cloth roof which is fully insulated deploys in 18 seconds at the press of a button even while the car is moving at 30 mph.
